Hand painted 16x24" acrylic on giclée print. Framed and unframed options. Photo taken at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Partially inspired by the poem The Fourth Sign of the Zodiac by Mary Oliver, a portion of which (part 4.) is included handwritten in the background of the work copy of poem included with purchase.
Each piece is built from a photo taken during a hospital stay with a loved one, and painted while holding others in precarious moments of health scares and mortality.
The With You series is a body of work about holding and being held in grief, in love, in fragility, in joy, in vulnerability or more simply put, the entanglement that is being human.
